Rune Aarrestad (49) succeeds Arne Borg, who has headed the company since 1977, as new general manager of Norac.
Rune Aarrestad has extensive management experience, most recently as regional manager for the business client division of insurance company If. He will head NORAC at a time when all production is in Lithuania, but where administration, engineering, sales and marketing are gathered at Stoa in Arendal.
Arne Borg (65) is about to retire and is withdrawing from his management position at Norac. Arne Borg is a much-respected business leader, and although he is handing over the wheel to Rune Aarrestad, this doesn’t mean that he will completely let go of the business he has been such a prominent leader of for several decades. He will collaborate with Rune Aarrestad for a transition period, while also heading coordination and practical matters related to the transfer of production in Arendal to Lithuania – where Norac is already established with most of its production of interior systems for ships and offshore installations.
Most of Arne Borg’s career has been with Norac. He was made head of production at Norac in 1977, when the company went under the name of Aker Panel, and subsequently became general manager when the company changed its name to Norac and set up business at Stoa in Arendal in the early 1980s.
To many people Arne Borg is Mr. Norac – not least in the international shipping and offshore community. He can look back at a diverse career with an extraordinary number of acquaintances. Arne Borg would like to convey his heartfelt greetings to customers and associates, both in Norway and abroad, and his thanks for good cooperation over many years.
