Arne Borg (65) is about to retire and is withdrawing from his management position at Norac. Although he is handing over the wheel to Rune Aarrestad, this doesn’t mean that he will completely let go of the business he has been such a prominent leader of for several decades. He will collaborate with Rune Aarrestad for a transition period, while also heading coordination and practical matters related to the transfer of production in Arendal to Lithuania – where Norac is already established with most of its production of interior systems for ships and offshore installations.
When Norac established its fully-owned subsidiary UAB Norac in Lithuania in 2006, the business quickly grew into an efficient production company, which currently has approx. 400 employees. In Arendal, the final remaining jobs linked to production at Stoa will now be discontinued. The transfer of the remaining 15% of production from Arendal to Lithuania is the result of a strategy to strengthen the company’s competitive ability.
